Prelude à L’aprés d’un Faune

(Tarde de um Fauno)

Poema orquestral apresentado pela primeira vez em poesia do simbolista francês Mallarmé. Representa o monólogo de um fauno( da mitologia grega: misto de homem e animal caprino) em um canavial. A música de estilo pastoril ( de Claude Debussy) procura  traduzir  os sentimentos e paixões do fauno. Como bailado tem argumento e coreografia de Waslav Nijinsky, tendo sido apresentado, por primeira vez, em Paris, no ano de 1912, com decorações e vestuários de León Bakst. Nijinsky, dançando com sete ninfas, teve, neste bailado, uma das suas criações máximas.

(Afternoon of a Faun)

Poem orchestra first performed in French symbolist poetry of Mallarme. Represents the monologue of a Faun (from Greek mythology: a mixture of man and animal goat) in a sugarcane field. The pastoral style music (Claude Debussy) seeks to translate the feelings and passions of the faun. How has ballet and choreography argument Waslav Nijinsky, having been introduced, for the first time in Paris in 1912, with decorations and costumes from Leon Bakst. Nijinsky dancing with seven nymphs, was in this ballet, a maximum of their creations.

Esmeralda

Ballet feito em 5 cenas e três atos, com coreografia de Jules Perrot e seu compositor é Cesare Pugni. Sua estreia foi em 1844, no Teatro de sua Majestade, em Londres, Inglaterra.

História:

Estamos no século XV, no Pátio dos Milagres, em Paris. Ao entardecer, os mendigos encontram-se numa algazarra geral, sob a presidência de Clopin. O poeta Pierre Gringoire é trazido à sua presença.

Os outros o revistam, e como só encontram um poema em seus bolsos, ficam irritados. Clopin condena Pierre à morte.

Dá-lhe, contudo, uma opção: se encontrar uma mulher que queira desposá-lo, será livre. Porém, ninguém se apresenta. Nesse momento, entra a cigana Esmeralda, que se compadece da situação de Pierre e concorda em casar-se com ele.

Claude Frollo aproxima-se de Clopin e confessa seu amor por Esmeralda. O chefe concorda em ceder-lhe a cigana, e Claude declara-se a ela. Claude chama Quasímodo, o sineiro da igreja de Notre Dame, para ajudá-lo a pegar Esmeralda.

Os dois se atiram sobre a cigana. Nesse momento, entra um policial com o capitão Phoebus à frente. Claude consegue fugir, mas Quasímodo é preso. Esmeralda e Phoebus trocam olhares, e a jovem lhe conta sua vida. Ela intercede pelo corcunda e consegue sua libertação, fugindo dos beijos e abraços do capitão e levando consigo sua faixa.

Esmeralda entra em seu pequeno quarto, pobremente mobiliado, segurando a faixa de Phoebus. Com o olhar perdido, forma o nome do capitão com umas letras na mesa.

Entra Pierre Gringoire, o poeta, julgando que aquele abandono da cigana signifique amor por ele. Tenta agarrá-la mas ela se livra, apanha um punhal e o ameaça, dizendo que só o desposou por piedade.Pierre sai, decepcionado. Aparece Claude, com Quasímodo. Ele declara seu amor a Esmeralda, mas logo vê o nome de Phoebus na mesa. A jovem foge. Claude sai atrás dela, mas cruza com Pierre e tenta apunhalá-lo.

É detido por Quasímodo, que jura vingar-se de Phoebus. No jardim da mansão de Gondelaurier, são feitos os preparativos para o casamento de Fleur de Lys e Phoebus.Entra o noivo, que beija, indiferente, sua mão. O capitão demonstra seu sentimento, o que enfurece a noiva, principalmente depois que ela vê a faixa de Phoebus com a cigana. Fleur de Lys arrebata a faixa de Esmeralda, mas cai no chão desmaiada.

Enquanto é levada para casa, o poeta protege a saída de Esmeralda. Phoebus os segue.

É noite. Em um aposento de uma taberna, com uma janela que dá para o rio, entra o chefe Clopin, seguido por Claude, com um archote na mão para iluminar o caminho. Clopin indica um esconderijo e Claude entra ali com um punhal.

Tempos depois chegam Phoebus e Esmeralda. O capitão pergunta à jovem como é que ela pode amar dois homens ao mesmo tempo. Tomando uma pluma e soprando-a, ela responde que seu amor é como uma pluma ao vento.

Com ciúmes, Claude salta sobre os dois com o punhal na mão. Phoebus puxa Esmeralda para um quarto. Ouve-se um tiro e a queda de um corpo. Claude sai correndo e salta pela janela. Esmeralda desmaia.

Clopin invade o recinto, seguido por outras pessoas e acusa Esmeralda de assassinato.A cigana é presa, apesar de seus protestos. Segurando uma rosa, ela dança como em um sonho.

Emerald

Ballet done in three acts and five scenes, with choreography by Jules Perrot and Cesare Pugni is its composer. His debut was in 1844 at Her Majesty Theatre in London, England.

History:
We are in the fifteenth century, in the Court of Miracles, in Paris. At dusk, the beggars are in a general uproar, under the chairmanship of Clopin. The poet Pierre Gringoire is brought before him.
The others take, and how only find a poem in their pockets, they get angry. Clopin condemns Pierre to death.

You hear a shot and the fall of a body. Claude runs off and jumps out the window. Emerald faints.
Clopin invades the room, followed by others and accuses assassinato.A gypsy Esmeralda is arrested, despite his protests. Holding a rose, she dances like a dream.
